There is a whole line of people behind me waiting for the computer, so I´ll be quick-ish. Which is surprisingly difficult because the keyboard is slightly different here, with new letters! (ñç)!
So far, Granada is just pretty. I haven´t had enough time to hate it, or grow lonely. We´re staying at hostels for the first few days until we move into our host families, and its really like, in the center of town, and all nice and lively. the whole siesta thing is really confusing the crap out of me, I mean, taking a three hour break in the middle of the day in NICE, but everyone takes that break, so its so weird.
We walked around briefly last night, at like 11pm, which is totally normal there, and there were all these cobblestoned streets, and a man playing the accordian infront of the cathedral where Ferdinand and Isabel are bureid. SO CRAZY!!! All the while, I devoured some delicous passion fruit ice cream.
I had my first sip of cafe con leche today, and it was amazing.
I´m okay emotionally because right now, its just an amazing vacation! Wow, how many times can I say amazing.
Silly me.
Alright, I guess thats about it. Hopefully my next entry will be a little more exiciting...and less shallow.

I was reading your post and remembering Granada the way I saw it 5 years ago. I almost forgot, and now all my memories are back. "Pretty" is a good word. I remember it as pretty, but now it's probably really-really pretty given that I saw it in winter. And it's also so festive and artsy and artisan. Just pure fun. And very laid back and not taking itself too seriously. And so lovely and lively. All these people on the streets at around midnight. And children playing on playgrounds. And their parents getting a drink with other adults in or just outside bars with doors wide open. And tiny-teeny boutiques overflowing with more people. And eating and drinking in full swing everywhere...
For now, just inhale the festivities.
Write more. It's so much fun to read!
If I am not mistaken, there are art store and souvenir store by that cathedral. Art store to your left, souv store in front across little square if cath is behind you. There are a lot of art / souv stores, like rows and rows. Easy to get lost, get a map, people are helpful, enjoy, try to call next time using a pennytalk numbers, you may end up not paying at all, so you can use your card forever. Padre Uno.
Art store is to your right, we bought there a little print.
maybe, buying here is better than / or then/ in other parts, like, for example, madridian, toledian / except for toledo steel refined consumer products/, barcelonian parts of spanian country. We got our spanish CD from here, and you don't have to buy one for yourself, I'll cut you a copy. Padre Uno Smarte.
hey it's lllEHHbka... i registered last time but can't remember my password or whatever, so i guess i'm anonymous too:) anyway, it sounds great and it IS a vacation!!! you don't have to anticipate the time things get less pretty or lonely, it's an extended vacation and you're taking some art history classes to fill the time and you'll know some people who are also in these classes... it doesn't have to get lonely. it might just a little every once in a while because the people you know and who know you WELL are far away, but we'll see you soon. and you're meeting new poeople which should be enough to fill that void in the interim:) oh i want some cafe con leche!!! it's so not the same when it's just coffee with milk.
guess what i saw a mouse in my apartment yesterday!! 20 min before i had to leave for work too but luckily the super happened to be in the apartment next door and came with cement and covered up the whole through which said mouse had come in (and i think, and hope, left). ok, just wanted to say hi. have fun!!!! walk lots and then you can eat more ice cream:) love you!!!!
hehe anuta here, totally second janya's commend, no reason to anticipate that it will be bad, it may just stay awesome! i mean muy bien!! your hermana favorita
Hey, my family of doctors
Just for future references: you don't have to sign up to this site to appear under a screen name (not anonymous). All you have to do is to click on Name/URL instead of Google/Blogger (under "Choose an identity" in orange on the right), type a screen name of your choice under Name (in yellow box), and click "Publish your comment".
isn't it ironic how I send my last message - with instrcutions on how to use a screen name - under "anonymous"?
...just a computer dork who wanted to blend in with hot shot doctors...
