So, What did I do in Lisbon, Portugal?
Explored. I am set to leave in the next few minutes, but alas, I will try to explain what I have done. We began our one day out walking to the coast, we leave more inland. Although there is plenty of coast in Lisboa, there is no beack, just fyi for those wondering. After wandering through some adorable streets, we stumbled upon an old elevator, pretty muching standing alone in the middle of a street. We rode it, it cost 2.80 euro, but gave us the best views of Lisboa one could dream of. Later, we continued our walk and made it to the captial buidling and then an old church, where there was a WEDDING!! So, we went in and politely crashed a Portuguese wedding. After that we went out for food, I got potatoes, a huge piece of fish and BROCCOLI for 5.50 euro. It was great. After that? We took the tram down the coast to Belem, the old neighborhood, where we stumbled upon the tomb of Vasco De Gama (even though, I cannot for the life of me tell you what EXACTLY he explored...) and we sat on the coast and watched as GIANT swarms of fishs swarm eagerly near the rock. It was actually kind of scary.
In Belem, I was able to call my sister and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! (HAPPY BIRTHDAY I-I-IEhkA!!!) and walk down the tiny twisty street. We returned to our area of town only to stumble upon people from my program who were also visiting Lisbon (we had been planning on meeting later, but instead met up earlier) amd so, we talked for a while and went out. The streets of Lisbon are PACKED at night and most bars are essentially outdoor bars because ALL the patrons spill onto the streets. Its was amazing seeing so many people, all out drink from little cups and talking in Portuguese.
So, descriptional information will come later! I have to get going, we're driving down to Lagos, a little beach town on the south. Talk later! Miss you all! Happy sandwich day, l-l-lEH!!!

sounds great, i wonna go to lisboa Papa
hey zaika
finally got to write to you.
i'm glad you had this "response" (or "comment") team supporting you while we were gone, and not letting you feel abandoned and/or not-loved. :)
your Lisboa visit sounds like a lot of fun. i am glad you liked it. it seems that fish is what they eat which is really fine with us. and their coffee is just as good as spanish.
you've probably noticed that it's very different from spain. also, lisbon is a bigger city than granada. so it's probably fun to go visit a bigger city with more life density and intensity - for a holiday (or whatever it was) or for a change.
our IIIEHbKA's bd surprise worked well, and i'm really glad we went. We had only about 18 hours (including night and sleep) of togetherness but it was well worth the trip.
enjoy the rest of your portugal fun, and write more reports and detail. i'm not implying you're not writing enough, i just want to say that i'm always hungry for more.
LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
Definitely, the more the better, it is so interesting for us. I thought of Lisbon as a dull, working hard-and-no fun place, but you just opened my eyes. We will read about everything, so if you have some time, please write something, but have time for yourself , too. Bday was good, Jenya is alone overthere, so it was good we came. She did her first C- section on 9/12, it is huge. We / me/ ate so much at Yana's, it was our meeting place, so later at a restaurant we all had just appetizers. we had really good time . We'll go again, of course. Our VW started to break in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhhere on a way there, but we managed to make it back. We had to watch speed, because at over 75 the engine cut off, and a sign STOP appeared, but we stopped only the first time, and then just ignored it couple more times, it was tense. I am like mama today, my message is long.
Wherever you will go on a side trip, it'll be fine anywhere, I think. So don't think much, but prepare for it. Papskis

you said you're like mama - but aren't you competing with mama by any chance? you pbulished your message twice to get double credit for it, didn't you? very questionable tactics I should say....
