I am going to London and Amsterdam...and it will be chilly. chilly. fun!

Hey everyone, now that I am done with my entries about Morocco I am leaving. Again.

Honestly, at this point, my life is surreal, all the travel, all the foreign languages, its really incredible. So tomorrow, I am off to London, and then Amsterdam, and then returning to London for a few more days. My semana blanca should be amazing, although I have little to nothing planned.

I mean the basics are down, hotel stay, buses to and fro respective airports, and flights, but no actual day plans. That is my research now, the fun stuff.

Honestly, I am extremely excited to plan and to go to a country where I can read the newspaper...quickly! Woo!!

And I here there a big mugs of coffee, and pale people, and all the things that I am used to! But, alas, it will be chilly, much chillier than here, and it will be pricey, so I may go hungry for a few days.

Just kidding.

Well, honestly, I am just excited, post plan, I will post information, and more thoughts but for now I am just a bundle of energy. Also, any reccomendations for my journey? things I MUST try or do?

Miss you all!
Love Love Love,
me

I envy your travels. Don't worry it is a good envy. I cannot tell you mach about London, I was there briefly while flying to some other places. But Amsterdam is very cool. I think , your know all the places you want to visit. But for Art Riiks and Van Gouge Museums are very nice. Go to the Jewish quarter - Jewish museum and Portuguese synagogue should not be missed. Ann Frank house and etc. Lots of staff to see where.
And also could you click on my blog when you going to be in new countries, it is nice to see new flags show up in my website.

Make sure you say "'ello Gov'na" at least once in London. And take one of those goofy Abbey road pictures :)

Hey Zaika

Amsterdam has lots of art museums you probably already know about (Rembrandt, Van Gogh etc.), and since these museums are not your Louvre or Hermitage, they are pretty small, you can actually visit all of them within a couple days. I think you should go to Ann Frank museum – it’s very highly visited one there. If you get to a Jewish museum there, buy a book about Russian Jewish art for us, if they still sell it. You may want to go to their Heineken factory and then tell papa all about it since we didn't get to go there.
Also, bundle up and walk the streets as much as you can. Papa and I regretted not doing enough of it. Amsterdam is so-o-o-o-o cute.
And drink bear of course...I don't suppose you'll be adventurous enough to try their herring, but if you feel inspired, it's much better than everything we have here. Also, they have a fast food chain of middle eastern food - sort of like Pita Inn, but in a full blown fast food format - which is really good. I highly recommend to try it. Amsterdam actually has lots of very authentic ethnic cuisines because it's a very cosmopolitan city with diverse population. It's also relatively inexpensive - definitely relative to London.

Don’t know much about London. Papa says Soho. I think walking around is also a good idea. You can visit lots of places without paying for anything. You have to be smarter though in London than in Amsterdam because London has lots of rough spots. So do your homework before you venture too far. And bundle up!!!!! You don’t want to get really sick.

I miss you so much!!!!! Can’t wait to see you and give you a hug.

Amsterdam is good for walking, it's amazing for it's canals and buildings, try herring on a bun, other fish in those stands is very good, too. Museums are small, you can easily visit two in a day, maybe three. Go to Heineken factory, and try Amstel regular , not Light. It's kinda sweet. But stuff in Amsterdam is more expensive, including herring, it is cheaper in The Haague / I don't know why " The"/. Again, just walking around is amazing. Beware of bikes. They have felafel stands, you buy f and get side salads at the bar, recommended. Brown coffee houses - just about any coffe place, with brown interior, famous there. Navigation is simple. They have night buses, get the schedule.
THE Haague has couple of good museums, and on the same block. Buy herring there.
As forLondon - I just walked with the crowd at night. It was like 5 am when I headed back to Heathrow. Buses are the cheapest. Have some fish and chips for me. See Soho, you can go there during daytime. Navigation is difficult. Make a picture of a guard in a bear hat. Have a good time. We love you very much. We sent you a card on a special occasion - we got it for free at las vegas hotel. If opportunity presents itself, you'll get lucky again. But we love you very much, your dear parents.

Just a little extra comment - MAKE SURE YOU GET A MAP OF A CITY as soon as you get there. Don't be too cheap! :) Maps don't cost a lot and they make travle much easier.

you can get a free museum map, it's very simple and good, also they have a lot / or some, or many more than in chicago/ indonesian or malaisian, or both , restaurants in a city of Heineken. Papski

Liz,

I'm sorry I've been absent on your blog and Facebook recently as I have been on me deathbed with a stomach virus...grooooossssss. Morocco sounded pretty creepy/scary, not as glamorous and exotic as I thought it would be. I'm glad you made it out alive. Have an awesome time in London and Amsterdam!!!! I would tell you to smoke pot while you're there, but it's not really something that I believe in, and I know you're not a fan either, but that's what Amsterdam is famous for with our generation. That was a terrible run-on sentence, but oh well. Anyway, I love my new nickname from you, though I'm thinking people may get the wrong idea...Who cares?!? I love you and miss you!

-Allison!

Hey Lizka,

I finally got my ticket to Granada. I'll be arriving on Iberia flight 270 at 19:35 on November 9. IIIEHbKA is arriving a day later. I am planning to stay in the hotel for the first night. Could you recommend one that is not far from your place?
Hope you are having great time in London and Amsterdam.

See you soon,

Your favorite cousin ;-)
